07.05.2026. As the Republic of Congo continues to diversify its economy, one message resonates clearly: the country’s future extends far beyond oil alone. And Congo’s next generation is ready to engage with wood innovation.
Organisedlast 17 April in Pointe-Noire with the support of UniCongo, the professional association of the industrial sector, the Industry Career Forum (now in its third year) brought together hundreds of young students.
Looking for internships to engineer their career paths and the future of Congo, the students engaged with representatives of agriculture-based projects, banks, insurance companies, technologyproviders and the wood industry.

RepresentingINTERHOLCO was Jérémie Ngoma, who explained what makesresponsible forestry the ideal sector to join for innovation.
INTERHOLCO’s stand attracted more than 30 students specialising in industrial maintenance and computer engineering. Internships in Congo are sought after as early as the first year of studies andJérémie highlighted the importance of acquiring practical experience, as our company increasingly needs skilled technical profiles.
Several third-year students also shared their ambition to one day join IFOon a permanent basis.Jérémie’s response reflected realistic encouragement:“I encouraged them to work hard, so that one day they can bring high-impact solutions to our company.”
Theday highlighteda diversified Congolese economy, one where forestry, manufacturing, engineering and innovation increasingly create new professional pathways for the country’s youth.
