10.07.2024. In a strategic development to cater to customer requirements more quickly and efficiently, Interholco’s hardwood processing in Ngombé (Republic of Congo) has been brought up to speed, upgrading a large number of primary and secondary wood processing tools.

Several state-of-the-art Paul edgers are already improving resource optimisation in the main sawmill and recovery workshop, while construction of 10 extra drying kilns and a brand new 9,000 m2 hangar for laminated scantling production is taking Interholco’s ability to process wood further. ‘Upgrading our sawmills goes hand in hand with building the skills of specialized workers,’ explains Christophe Janssen, Vice President of Production and Sales at Interholco. Ngombé is at the dawn of a new era, at the intersection of industrial innovation and social responsibility. The new developments fully integrate the health and safety of workers at every stage.

'Our employees have been specially trained in the use of these new technologies and we are pleased to see the fruits of this modernisation in our daily work,' says Mr Janssen. Some parts of the mechanisation were also made by the company's own staff: 'We have a mechanical workshop on site. The staff are qualified and have all the skills needed to design, manufacture and repair both modern and older production tools.'
