04.03.2021. With long hours now spent sitting at home, relax and comfort are vital for balance. Especially as many of us seek to blend work and personal life together. The warm tones of Wenge (Millettia laurentii), a dark, marbled wood that INTERHOLCO harvests sustainably in the Republic of Congo, bring the forest home – rescuing our connection with nature.

Named KUNST after the Danish word for ‘art’, design duo Inoda + Sveje may just have created the perfect seating collection, produced by Japanese furniture manufacturer Karimoku.
The KUNST sofa and chairs have distinctly smooth, seemingly unbroken contours, seamlessly embraced by fabric or leather upholstery. Shapes are organic, with no corners cut.

The collection, available in solid Oak, Walnut and Wenge, is more than just ergonomic: “The aim was to create timeless masterpieces of furniture, realizing the highest sense of aesthetics, breathing life into the smallest details—creating that which could be loved for many years, not because it particularly stood out but because it was simply beautiful.”

Karimoku’s top-of-the-line manufacturing facilities in Japan and 70 years’ worth of accumulated craftsmanship techniques made KUNST possible.

Each piece is a one-of-a-kind artwork that has the quality and technique of a line that would normally take many years to produce manually.
